Charles Marv "Pop" Smith (October 12, 1856 – April 18, 1927) was a Canadian Major League Baseball player from Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada. Pop played as an infielder for ten different teams over his 12-year career, spanning from to .〔(Baseball-Reference player page )〕
On the 17th of April, 1890, Smith became the first player to come up to the plate 6 times and not have an official-at-bat. He received 5 walks and was a hit by the pitcher in the remaining at-bat.〔Solomon, Abbot Neil, "Baseball Records Illustrated", Quintet Publishing, London, 1988〕
Smith died in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 70, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton, Massachusetts.〔(Baseball Almanac )〕
